Customer Rating: Summary: Great VHS documentary - Wish it was available on DVD Comment: This is an oustanding video and I wish it was available on DVD.
Very detailed, it tells the story of the Code breaking done at Bletchley Park during the Second World War and beyond. Bletchley Park was the forerunner for todays GCHQ and if you are interested at all in this subject it comes highly reccomended.
Customer Rating: Summary: An excellent series Comment: A very detailed series that chronicles the astounding work British and American codebreakers carried out at Bletchley Park during WWII. The style of the programme captures the camaraderie and atmosphere of what it must have been like to work with the often eccentric codebreakers. It also shows the dedication and hard work of the huge numbers of support staff. Highly recommended!
Customer Rating: Summary: A real life story of outstanding achievements Comment: This programme is very impressive and tells the Ultra story. The programme is captivatingly narrated and whets the appetite for further reading and research into this gripping subject. It was very interesting to hear how the work at Bletchley Park shortened the war. One of the many intersting aspects covered deals with the Collossus Computer which was ground breaking. Having a detailed interview with Tommy Flowers was excellent. At many points the programme uses lots of WW2 footage and then interviews the persons invloved. An excellent example of this was the interview with Lt Cdr David Balme who was invlved in capturing Enigma material from a U Boat. I highly recommend this excellent & educational programme.
Customer Rating: Summary: A superbly crafted programme Comment: This is a wonderful programme. Excellently shot, superbly scripted, the subject matter held my attention right the way through. One of the best television programmes I have ever seen.
