Customer Rating: Summary: Cinema is a little girl Comment: Thanks to Susan Sontag's essay on Syberberg's film in her book Under the Sign of Saturn, I knew the existence of this masterpiece. The variety of the media Syberberg uses to approach Hitler's times is astounding, including radio excerpts, puppets, documentary style,...The duration of the film (seven hours) should not scare anyone interested in great artists such as Syberberg. It is a unique experience. The film is divided in four parts. There are hints to previous periods of German history or art, such as references to King Ludwig II and to Richard Wagner ("maecenas" and artist). Syberberg made a film on the figure of this king. I really recommend anyone interested in history and any kind of art to watch this marvel.
