Customer Rating: Summary: Informative without too much unnecessary detail Comment: coming from a muslim background, much of my school years islamic education was "forced" onto me, without much logical or scientific explaination on why or the historical significance behind it. Now that I am living in a non-muslim country as a scientist, I feel the need to re-examine my faith and practice in a philosophical and a more scientific approach. This book is very informative on the "do's and don'ts" in the islamic way of life, as well as good cross references to hadiths and verses from the Quran. The wording may be a bit archaic in parts, but the gist of the information is there in an easily readable format. The table of contents and index are logically sequenced (follows closely to the "Muwatta" by Imam Malik). Good reference book to have for every muslims and anyone who are interested to familiarise with muslim way of life/culture.
