Customer Rating: Summary: Travesty not history Comment: According to the author the earth is only 10,000 years old, the Russian royal family weren't murdered by the Bolsheviks and the Russian revolution was all about oil.
Welcome to the wacky world of history as a series of conspriracy theories. Basing his "facts" on a collection of anecdotes, half-truths and scribblings by fellow conspiracy theorists, Emmerson has fashioned a book fit only for the dustbin of history. Don't waste your money on this drivel, buy a good novel instead.
Customer Rating: Summary: excellent Comment: excellent challenge to the wideley excepted view of history and really does make more sense, i only didnt give it 4 stars because alot of the authors views are biased because he is a christian if he wasnt a religious man it would be 5 star but some of his other books make him seem t hardcore christian.
Customer Rating: Summary: Really really surprised, pleasantly. Recomended Buy!!! Comment: I loved it....but then if i'm honest I love books like this...in so much as it does appear to be well researched, Epperson throught the book makes strong, coherent arguements that challenges the normal conventional understanding of recent and past history. The whole section relating to Darwin did have some religious undertones, but in fairness, it did what all good books should do....it make me think....yes I still prefer the theory of evolutionary process to God and religion, but Darwin is not as water tight for me now....Overall an enjoyable book to read, just have a small bit of salt to hand when you do. On par with None Dare Call it Conspiracy, and for that matter The PaperClip Conspiracy (however the paper clip Con. was much more fact and fiction)!!!
Customer Rating: Summary: Brilliant book, especially the chapter challenging Darwinism Comment: Mr Epperson has brilliantly, using many references, put forward a convincing case for the conspiratorial view of history, which I accept. It is very sad that the Civil War and World Wars were engineered by those criminals which Mr Epperson mentioned.
Customer Rating: Summary: THE POWERS THAT BE SHALL NOT ALWAYS BE... Comment: Of course there are a lot of paranoid/conspiracy dealers out there, but most of what's in this book makes pretty good sense and (I would say) is mostly on target. The Bible says, "the powers that be are (at least for a season) ordained of God." - The REAL reason for all these secret societies and various manueverings is that plain fact that "it's the nature of the Beast." ie/ greed, lust for power, deceptiveness, lust for security, etc.,etc. - all the unspeakable garbage of the proud, egocentric, fallen nature. Unless that "beast nature" is transformed from within (ie/ "born-again") you cannot see, know, or enter the Kingdom of God. The kingdom of Man is all the unspeakable, bloody power-trips described and documented in this book. The days of the kingdom of Man are numbered. The Days of the Kingdom of God are without number. The "powers that be" are only for a season. The One thing they never quite grasped or thought to rightly factor in is the True Hebrew Messiah and Savior of the World. - HIS Is the REAL, Sovereign, "Unseen Hand." My advice: make very, very sure you're on the right side, serving the RIGHT Master.Len Hummel Cebu, R.P.
