Customer Rating: Summary: A comprehensive and worthwhile text for degree level tort Comment: Rogers, in his latest review of the classic tort text, originally by Winfield and Jolowicz has managed to produce a supurb book for those studying the law of tort at degree level. Rogers manages to maintain the detail required in this, and indeed all, areas of law whilst keeping the text, for the most part, easy to read and comprehend. Obviously the text cannot focus on every single area of the law of tort without turning into a multi volumed encyclopedia but the central areas are discussed at great length and the copious refernces to cases which are not discussed at great length not only allow but positively encourage the reader to branch out and extend their knowledge beyond that found in the text. Overall a very worthwhile investment containing more detail than many of the available texts but still retaining a 'user friendly' attitude. I would, however, recommend using this text in conjunction with a case book in order to avoid spending weeks at a time in your local law library looking up the numerous case citations! Finally, I must stress that this review is, inevitably subjective. I have found this book invaluble for my studies of Tort but the choice of a text is a personal thing. If you really want to understand the law, above all make sure you select a text you feel comfortable with.
