Summary: Inciteful and interesting, if a little dated.
Comment: For the history of advertising, Gillian Dyer's work cannot be faulted. She is the first person to look for when researching this subject. This book however, was written twenty ago and seems a little dated- as the current trends have developed. The fundamentals of advertising have not changed, however, and they are illustrated with precision and clarity. For a beginner in the field, this is a great way to get started.
