Summary: Detailed, yet lacking vital background commentary
Comment: While a worthwhile purchase if you are looking simply for text and materials, the book does not compare well to other rival titles because often detailed extracts are unsupported by the author's commentary. In a subject as complex and seemingly fluidic as English land law this is very necessary and while exposition is provided in many places, it is markedly lacking in others. An alternative, which both manages to offer a wider selection of cases and references to countless, though all relevant, journal articles is Nigel P. Gravell's Land Law: Text And Materials.
