Customer Rating: Summary: An excellent tool for Law students Comment: Professor Alder is one of my lecturers - I'm a first year student at Newcastle University - and this book is both the basis for our lectures and an excellent tool for revision and reference. The subject is summed up into clear and simple sections and the writing style is much more understandable than other, more heavy textbooks on the market. Reccommended.
Customer Rating: Summary: Exactly what it says on the cover! Comment: This book is an excellent base for learning the general principles of constitutional and administrative law... it's informative without being overwhelming or too verbose. I'm a first year Law student and I've found this to be an easy introductory text to the core principles in this area - it helps contextualise the more complex texts and isn't something that you dread having to pick up! It has great chapter summaries in bullet point format at the end of each chapter (great for the odd tutorial which I've not had time to prepare for!) I'd recommend supplementing reading this with texts such as Bradley & Ewing "Constitutional and Administrative Law" Longman, 2002 or Barendt if you need more detail. While being relatively simple, this is by no means simplistic and an excellent learning tool.
