Comment: We all know about Yezhov during his high-flying quick career, but there is not much information known about him before. Until this book, tht is.
The book is generally useful for information as to things leading up to his promotion to NKVD head, such as his background, politicial views as well as events leading up to his promotion. The book is also illustrated with many pictures, and contains many charts and datas which come in useful. The book also tries to explain what could have make him do such things, and why.
If you're lucking for information on his carrer as NKVD head, I would advise you look elsewhere as this book is purely information about events leading up to this.
