Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent effort to bring together Geography and Economics Comment: Geography and Economics, which used to be very related disciplines even in the 19th century, have diverged and now have huge methodological differences. Though Economic Geography is a very important part of geographic thought, it's method and way of thinking often have got little to do with economic theories. Krugman, who's excellent quantitative economist, tries to "bring Geography back" to the theoretical framework of contemporary Economics, especially through the use of models and metaphors. This is an excellent reading for every economic geoghrapher and, I would suggest, for every economist, who is interested not only in pure theoretical assumptions, but also in something about the real world.
